FACILITIES

We are located at the Hwa Rang Kwan school at 90 Welsh St. We are closely partnered with HRK but are unaffiliated with their taekwondo program. Thanks to the generosity of the HRK school, we have access to mats, equipment, locker rooms, and an awesome sound system.

The mat room holds about 20 people comfortably and can accomodate up to 30 for a more closely knit workout, such as a forms or strength training session. The mats are medium soft judo mats that work well for both judo and jiu-jitsu and taekwondo. A full wall of mirrors and an opposite wall with stretching bars are great for working on flexibility and forms. At CWSF there are kicking paddles, kicking shields, heavy bags, jump ropes, strength bands, and agility ladders, all of which get used in the many various drills that we do in addition to taekwondo.

INSTRUCTORS

Nexus Fitness Center

Sparring classes are held at Nexus Fitness Center at 586 6th St. There are two smaller rings, locker/bathrooms, and water. Workouts are full gear, and participants must bring their own sparring gear, including hogu and elbow and knee pads. The atmosphere feels like an "underground boxing gym" so the sparring workouts are always intense. Parking is available on street right in front of the gym.
